This topic of the scientific management and its role in the development of operations management has given me the opportunity to start build on the knowledge required for my dissertation. The readings of the articles and the books that I’ve used for this paper, has enabled me to widen my perspective on the subject matter, and to focus my efforts for future research. I’m now much more knowledgeable on this topic than when I started with this research. Now, I understand the principles and the theory of the scientific management, and I also understand the progress that this theory went through during its evolution phases.
Moreover, I now have a good grasp of the development of the operations management as it progressed during its long history from the late 1700’s until this current time. Finally, I’m able to realize and appreciate the relationship among the scientific management’s principles and guidelines with the operations management tools and techniques.
